§ 642.16 INJURY TO SHADE TREES.
   (a)   No person shall purposely, knowingly or recklessly, and without lawful authority, cut, bark, cut down, root up, break down, bore or chop, or in any other manner injure or destroy any shade or ornamental tree, bush or shrub on any street or other public ground within the corporate limits, nor shall any person permit any other person to commit any of the acts prohibited by this section.

   (b)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor. A separate offense shall be deemed committed each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues.
