The Mayor is hereby authorized to advertise for bids and to enter into contracts, without further action by Council, for the purchase of those items which are regularly needed on an annual basis, including maintenance contracts for radios, elevators, plumbing, heating and air conditioning units, electrical work, legal advertising, insurance expiring during the year, heavy equipment rentals, trenching and backfilling, uniforms and wearing apparel for employees, tree removal and cutting services, cutting of harmful and/or noxious weeds, and other necessary materials, supplies and equipment which are regularly utilized by the various City departments.
The Mayor is further authorized to advertise and enter into contracts of up to three years for the City's medical, life and flexible benefit insurance plans.
