The Urban Forest Council shall:
(A) Assist the City Forester in the development of a long range plan for street and park trees in the City. This long range plan should include goals for planting, replacement, removal, pruning, preservation and maintaining of street and park trees within the City.
(B) Assist the City Forester in the preparation of an annual report to the Mayor and Council to be presented no later than March 1 each year. This report shall contain a summary of all projects, work completed by the City Forester and Urban Forest Council during the past year and a plan for the upcoming year. This yearly plan shall be in accordance with the overall long range plan for street and park trees for the City.
(C) Assist the City Forester in the preparation of a brochure to be made available to the public containing information on planting trees within the City and in urban environments. This brochure shall contain a list of acceptable species, guidelines for location of trees and a list of the steps necessary for residents to gain permission to plant trees on City owned or maintained property.
(D) Plan and carry out an annual Arbor Day observance in the City.
(E) Make available to the public programs and information on urban arboriculture.
(F) Keep up to date on the latest urban arboriculture practices, working closely with the Urban Forester.
