228.03   SMALL CLAIMS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
   (A)   There is hereby created a Small Claims Review Committee which shall be composed of the City Auditor who shall be the chairman, the Director of Law or his designee, and a department head designated by the Mayor. The Committee shall meet at such times as it deems necessary, but in any event shall meet at least annually. The Committee shall at least annually file a report listing the claims paid, a brief description of the claim, and other actions taken on any claims presented to the Committee. The Committee shall have the authority to order the payment of claims against the municipality by majority vote of the Committee members, provided, however, that the aforesaid authority shall not exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00) per claim, and providing further that the head of the affected department approves the same.
   (B)   The City Auditor is authorized and directed to issue his warrant or warrants against the appropriate funds for payment of the obligations allowed by the Small Claims Review Committee, provided, however, that no such payment exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00).
