(A) The intent of this chapter is to allow food truck businesses to operate in the Town of Lillington.
(B) G.S. § 160A-174 grants towns the power to define, prohibit, and regulate acts, omissions, or conditions detrimental to the health, safety, or welfare of its citizens and the peace and dignity of the town through the creation of ordinances.
(C) Food truck businesses promote diversification of the town’s economy and employment opportunities and would support the incubation and growth of entrepreneurial/startup businesses.
(D) Food truck businesses bring benefits to communities. They also bring unique regulation challenges.
(E) This chapter is not intended for catered private events at businesses and residences.
