The Clerk of the Town Board shall be ex officio Town Clerk, and as such he or she shall have custody of the corporate seal and all town documents, records and papers not appropriate to be in the custody of some other town officer. Except as may be provided otherwise by law, this code or other ordinance, the Town Clerk shall issue all licenses and permits, and receive all petitions to the Town Board and claims against the town; and he or she shall perform all duties imposed upon him or her by law or by the Town Board.
