Pursuant to Revised Code of Washington 66.44.100, any person who opens a container of liquor or consumes liquor in a public place is guilty of a class 3 civil infraction under Revised Code of Washington chapter 7.80. This section shall not apply to containers kept in the trunk of a vehicle or in an area of the vehicle not normally occupied by the driver or passengers. A utility compartment or glove compartment is deemed to be within the area occupied by the driver and any passenger. (Ord. 140, 10-4-2005)
