(A) All properties shall have an internal shut-off valve from the Waterworks. Existing properties without an internal shut-off valve shall install a valve if problems arise or repairs are required with the property’s water meter.
(B) All properties shall install water systems and connections that comply with this chapter, state plumbing codes, and all applicable AWWA, ASTM and ANSI standards or town standards.
(C) The user shall only use suitable copper or approved plastic material as set by the Public Works Department for a water service line.
(D) Tracer wire shall be 12-gauge AWG copper wire. Splices and branch connections shall be made with 12 AWG splice kits suitable for underground installation, according to the following instructions:
(1) Remove one-half inch of insulation from wire;
(2) Connect wires using a split bolt connector or solder; and
(3) Seal connection with epoxy contained in the splice kit, and wrap with tape.
(E) All underground lawn sprinkling systems must have an anti-siphon breaker installed at least three feet above the highest sprinkling head.
(F) No physical connections shall be installed or maintained between lines carrying potable public water supplies and pipes, pumps or tanks supplied or capable of being supplied from any non-potable source, except as hereinafter provided. Where dual supplies are necessary or desirous, lines carrying water from the public must be protected against back flow of polluted water by such method or methods as are approved by the Public Health Department for the state.
(G) All 03-closing valves must be compensated by surge chambers.
