(A) Meter records, reports, inspections, and tests will be maintained and/or conducted per 170 I.A.C. 6, Water Utilities.
(B) In the event a water meter shall fail to register properly, the Public Works Department is empowered to estimate the quantity of water used, based on former consumption, and the town shall charge any user accordingly.
(C) If any user desires to have his or her water meter tested, he or she shall make the request in writing to the town, and deposit with the Public Works Department a water meter test deposit, as specified in the town’s utilities fee schedule. The Public Works Department shall test the meter with the user present at the test.
(D) If it wishes to independently test the water meter, the Public Works Department or its representative is empowered to test the meter in the absence of the user.
(E) If the town determines that the user damaged the meter, the user will be charged per the town’s utilities fee schedule.
(F) A record of the date when each water meter was furnished to the user, its number and location, shall be kept in the office of the Public Works Department.
