339.12 OPERATION OF SEMITRAILERS ON LOCAL STREETS.
   (a)   As used in this section “semitrailer” means any vehicle of the trailer type without motive power so designed or used with another and separate motor vehicle that in operation a part of its own weight or that of its load, or both, rests on and is carried by such other vehicle furnishing the motive power for propelling itself and the vehicle referred to in this section, and includes, any vehicle of the dolly type, such as a trailer dolly, designed or used for the conversion of a semitrailer into a trailer.
   (b)   Notwithstanding any other section of this Traffic Code, no person shall operate a semitrailer on other than State routes except for the purpose of making a delivery or pickup of goods and the use of any local street is reasonably necessary to gain access to the place of delivery; except that between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., semitrailers may be operated on Fox Road, Lexington-Ontario Road, Plymouth Street, Orchard Park Road, Lexington-Steam Corners Road, and Mill Street.
   (c)   The Administrative Director is authorized and directed to post signs containing the prohibition of this section at such entrances to the Village as are reasonably necessary to advise the operators of semitrailers of this section.

   (d)   Except as otherwise provided in this subsection, whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor. If, within one year of the offense, the offender previously has been convicted of or pleaded guilty to one predicate motor vehicle or traffic offense, whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree. If, within one year of the offense, the offender previously has been convicted of two or more predicate motor vehicle or traffic offenses, whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree.
