139.06 AUXILIARY POLICE FORCE.
   (a)   Creation; Appointment; Members.
      (1)    There is created an Auxiliary Police Force consisting of special policemen to be known as Auxiliary Policemen.
      (2)    At no time shall the membership of such Auxiliary Police Force exceed fifteen members.
   (b)   Service. Auxiliary Police shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor or until their resignation shall have been accepted by the Mayor.

   (c)   Qualifications; Age and Residency. Members of the Auxiliary Police force shall reside within twenty miles of the Lexington Municipal Building or anywhere within Richland County, Ohio and shall not be less than twenty-one years of age at the time of their appointment.

   (d)   Commanding Officer. The Chief of Police shall be the Commanding Officer of the Auxiliary Police Force and shall have control of the assigning, training, stationing, and working of such force.
   (e)   Powers. Auxiliary Police, when so acting and when in the prescribed uniform, shall have all police powers of the ordinary members of the Police Force. They shall obey the orders given to them by the Chief of Police and any chain of command in the Police Department that he may designate.
   (f)   Rules And Regulations. The Mayor shall prescribe the rules and regulations for the conduct and control of the Auxiliary Police Force. He shall prescribe the uniform, badge, or other designation to be used by such force. No member of such force shall be assigned or sent on any assignment outside the Municipality.
