Because most commercial uses are prohibited within these districts, only those signs which are appropriate and compatible with the residential character of these districts will be permitted.
(b) Temporary signs not exceeding 8 square feet in size, placed in recognition of personal celebrations such as birthdays, graduation, anniversaries, weddings, etc. Such signs must be located at least five (5) feet off the property line, and shall be displayed for not more than 5 days. No sign permit is required.
(c) Temporary project development signs as permitted by Section 1309.40 (m).
(d) Development Identification signs identifying the name of the subdivision or multi- family community, subject to the following specifications:
(1) The developer or homeowners association may apply for a permit for a permanent identification sign to be erected at each principal entrance to a subdivision, planned residential community or multi-family development. The application shall show the exact location and dimensions and methods and materials of construction, which should be compatible in character with the development.
(2) Maximum sign area – Single Family subdivisions -24 square feet at 5 foot setback from the property line. Other developments- 32 sq. ft. if setback exceeds 5 feet from the right-of-way.
(3) Unlighted signs or signs illuminated by external light sources only.
(4) The protective covenants filed with the plat or improvement plans for a subdivision shall contain provisions for the perpetual maintenance of the development identification sign.
