All dogs over six (6) months of age kept, harbored or maintained by any person in the city shall be vaccinated for rabies, distemper or other disease deemed necessary for control by a licensed veterinarian and registered for administering such shots. The vaccination shall cover such period as designated by the animal control officer, or as specified by state statutes.
A. Tag: Every owner shall be required to attach the vaccination tag to the dog collar along with the current year's dog tag.
B. Transferability: Vaccination tags shall not be transferable from one dog to another.
C. Removal Prohibited: No person shall remove or cause to be removed the collar or vaccination tag from any dog vaccinated without the consent of the owner, keeper or harborer thereof. (1980 Code § 13-245)
