(A) If the Board determines that the size of the department’s operation requires assistants for the Superintendent, the Board may appoint, upon recommendation of the Superintendent, one or more assistants. The Board shall determine their qualifications on a basis similar to that prescribed for the Superintendent.
(B) Assistants are directly responsible to the Superintendent of Parks and shall perform the duties specified by the Superintendent.
