A. Prior Approval Required: All bills payable by the village, other than for the payment of salaries established by the council, shall be submitted to the council for approval before payment. (1966 Code § 5.205)
B. Payment By Treasurer: The treasurer shall pay out money in payment of all bills, or for salaries, or for any other purpose other than the retirement of principal or interest on bonds or tax anticipation warrants only upon warrant signed by the mayor and the clerk as provided by statute. Such warrants shall designate the items to be paid out and the funds from which they are to be paid. (1966 Code § 5.206)
C. In addition to compliance with subsections A and B, any checks or other negotiable instruments issued shall be signed by the village treasurer and countersigned by the mayor or in the mayor's absence by the commissioner of accounts and finances. (amd. Ord. 06-17, 7-11-2017)
