A. Contract For Collection:
1. The village council may from time to time grant by contract, franchise or otherwise the right to any person, firm or corporation to collect and remove garbage and refuse in the village from the residences thereof on an exclusive basis or on any other reasonable basis that it may deem appropriate.
2. No person, firm or corporation shall collect and remove garbage and refuse within the village without having first been granted the right so to do by the village council.
B. Collection Rules And Regulations: The village council shall provide rules and regulations for the collection and removal of garbage and refuse as it deems necessary.
C. Collection Rates: Commencing January 1, 2018, rates for residential garbage removal service in the village of Leland shall be as follows:
1. For each dwelling unit occupied by no more than one person, sixty-three dollars ($63.00) per quarter;
2. For each dwelling unit occupied by more than one person, eighty-one dollars ($81.00) per quarter. (2003 Code; amd. Ord. 04-13, 10-1-2013; Ord. 07-17, 8-1-2017; Ord. 22-01, 4-5-2022)
