A private residential detached garage, not a commercial garage, is allowed only in the rear yard, and may not exceed seventeen feet (17') in height. All garages combined shall be limited to no more than forty percent (40%) of the living space. See section 9-3-13 of this chapter for additional regulations restricting buildings in rear yards.
