A violation of this chapter shall be punishable by a fine as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code. A separate offense shall be deemed to have occurred each day that any violation of this chapter takes place or continues. Any person or entity in violation of this chapter shall be required to halt further work, and failure to so halt work shall be punishable by a fine as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code per day for each day work continues after notice to halt is given by the city.
