6-2-8: ENFORCEMENT AND PENALTY:
   A.   Liability For Violations: The registered owner of a vehicle found in violation of any parking or vehicle restriction in this chapter, as well as the person in actual possession of the vehicle, shall be responsible for any violation. The lessor of a vehicle is responsible for providing information regarding the lessee of a vehicle within the appropriate time as may be set forth in the Illinois vehicle code in order to avoid liability for unpaid parking fines.
   B.   Separate Offenses: A separate offense shall be deemed committed each hour during which a violation occurs or continues to occur.
   C.   Towing And Impoundment; Penalties: The chief of police is hereby authorized to cause a towing service to remove and take possession of any vehicle found in violation of this chapter. In addition to any towing or impoundment expenses for any vehicle found in violation of this chapter, the following penalties will be applicable to the owner or operator of a vehicle for which a violation notice is issued; provided, that the amount is paid within fourteen (14) days after the issuance of a violation notice: Two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00). If the amount is not paid within fourteen (14) days after the issuance of a violation notice, the amount shall be doubled. Any owner or operator who shall fail to pay the penalty as prescribed in this section shall be prosecuted for violation of this chapter and shall pay a fine of an additional twenty five dollars ($25.00) per day exclusive of court costs; provided, that no fine shall exceed seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00) for any single offense.
