6-1-1: THROUGH STREETS:
   A.   Definition: For the purposes of this section, the term "motor vehicle" shall be taken to mean and include every self-propelled device in, upon, or by which any person or property is or may be transported or drawn upon a highway.
   B.   Authority To Designate: The Mayor or anyone designated by the Mayor as Road Commissioner, in order to regulate traffic, shall have the power to designate certain streets as through streets and to erect stop signs at the intersections of such designated through streets.
   C.   Stops Required: It shall be unlawful for any person driving a motor vehicle to enter such designated through street, at which a stop sign has been erected, without bringing such motor vehicle to a full and complete stop as near the curb line of the through street as may be possible.    D.   Penalty: Any person who fails to comply with this section shall be prosecuted and, upon conviction, shall be punished by a fine as provided in section 1-4-1 of this Code. (Ord. 28, 10-13-1952; amd. 2008 Code)
