5-2-1: FIRE HAZARDS; STORAGE OF CERTAIN MATERIALS PROHIBITED:
   A.   Prohibited Materials: It is hereby declared to be a nuisance for any person to store in any building in the city, other than a one- or two-family dwelling house occupied by an owner or tenant, any of the following materials or items:
      1.   Ten (10) or more mattresses.
      2.   Rugs and carpeting material in excess of the quantity required to carpet the floors in a one- or two-family dwelling house.
      3.   Welding gases, paint, oil, and other petroleum products in excess of five (5) gallons.
      4.   Furniture consisting of tables, chairs, and beds in excess of the quantity required to furnish a one- or two-family dwelling house.
      5.   Lumber.
      6.   Other combustible materials.
   B.   Removal Required; Notice: Any person found to be in violation of this section shall remove the combustible materials within thirty (30) days after notice is sent by the city by certified mail. (Ord. 244, 9-1-1988)
   C.   Penalties: Any person who shall violate, neglect or refuse to comply with, or who shall maintain or use any building or premises in the city in violation of any of the provisions of this section shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code for each offense, and each day that a violation is permitted or continues to exist shall constitute a separate offense, and in addition to the above penalty, such actions at law or in equity may be maintained by the city or any interested persons as may be authorized by law.
