§ 32.04 HEARING PROCEDURES PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT TO A BOARD OR COMMISSION.
Prior to membership on any board or commission that requires appointment by the Mayor and approval by the City Council, the recommended appointee shall appear before the City Council at a regular or special meeting so that it can hold a hearing regarding the appointee. The hearing shall allow members of the City Council to examine the appointee’s qualifications, to discuss with the appointee the requirements of the position, and to ask questions of the appointee. This hearing requirement shall only refer to members newly appointed a board or commission. Those members being re-appointed to a new term shall not be required to attend a meeting of the City Council; their hearing shall take place in executive session.
