§ 34.01  AUXILIARY POLICE UNIT.
   (A)   There is established a police auxiliary unit, with all members to such unit being recommended by the Chief of Police, appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Village Council. Said appointments shall before a probationary period of six months of service. The Mayor shall transmit to Council a record of the appointees service with his or her recommendation to remove or finally appoint. Said final appointment requires the concurrence of Council. No appointees shall be less than 18 years of age.
   (B)   Prior to the assignment of service the Chief of Police shall properly train the above said appointees in the proper methods of Police Department procedures required for the service assigned.
   (C)   There shall be a maximum of ten members of said police auxiliary unit.
