When a dog or cat, with the exception of a feral cat, has been impounded, the administrator shall give written notice to the owner of the animal, if known. Such notice may be given by personal service, by leaving such notice on the main entrance of the residence of the last known address of the owner, or by certified mail to the last known address of the owner. The notice shall advise the owner that the redemption of the animal must occur no later than seven (7) business days from the impoundment of the animal. Testimony of the administrator or his/her authorized agent who delivers or mails such notice shall be evidence of the receipt of such notice by the owner of the animal. (Ord. 07-22-001, 7-21-2022)
