(A) If the owner of any animal impounded under this chapter shall fail to redeem the animal within the required time limits set forth in § 91.047 the city’s liability for the animal shall cease.
(B) After 72 hours, the custody and ownership of the unredeemed animal shall be transferred to the Animal Shelter. Upon receiving ownership, the Animal Shelter may allow adoption, placement or any other disposition deemed by the Animal Shelter to be in the best interest of the animal.
