§ I-4.001 SUBDIVISION EXEMPTIONS.
   The County Commission may grant exemptions from the application of the subdivision regulations for any subdivision of land which the Commission determines, pursuant to this chapter, is not within the purposes of the subdivision regulations, as evidenced in SDCL Ch. 11-3.
   (A)   An exemption may be approved for the subdivision of a lot where the size and location of the lot and available services are reasonable, appropriate, and customary for the proposed use. An exemption plat process shall be the same as that for approving final plats in Chapter 5.
   (B)   Types of subdivision exemptions are as follows:
      (1)   Boundary line adjustment/lot line revision/density reduction;
      (2)   Community facility lot split for land not owned by the county;
      (3)   Townsite lot;
      (4)   Utility lots; and/or
      (5)   Other subdivisions of land which the Commission, in its discretion, based on the applicable criteria of this chapter, determines do not fall within the purposes of the subdivision regulations.
