§ 155.02 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   "ALTERATION." Any construction, replacement, or remodeling on a building or structure which changes the exterior structural parts, the location of exterior openings, materials used, or the exterior appearance of the building or structure. An alteration shall include installation of a new sign or changes to an existing sign. An alteration shall also include painting of any building and the installation of a fence or removal of an established tree visible to the public.
   "CERTIFIED LOCAL GOVERNMENT." A government meeting the requirements of the National Preservation Amendments Act of 1980 (P. L. 96-515) and the implementing regulations of the U. S. Department of the Interior and the Kentucky Heritage Council.
   "CERTIFICATE." A certificate of appropriateness issued by the Lawrenceburg Historic District Commission.
   "COMMISSION." The Lawrenceburg Historic District Commission.
   "DEMOLITION." Any act that destroys in whole or in part a landmark or a building or structure in a historic district or on a landmark site.
   "DEMOLITION BY NEGLECT." Any failure to take basic maintenance steps, including but not limited to protecting a structure from the elements, vermin, vandalism, and preventing improper or illegal use of the building, which if not corrected would lead to the deterioration of the structure to a point where demolition is the only economically feasible alternative.
   "HISTORIC DISTRICT." An area meeting one (1) or more of the criteria contained in § 155.03(E).
   "HISTORIC PROPERTY." A landmark, landmark site, or property located within a historic district.
   "LANDMARK." A building, structure, or site meeting one (1) or more of the criteria contained in § 155.03(E).
   "LANDMARK SITE." The land on which a landmark and related buildings and structures are located and the land that provides the ground, the premises, or the setting for a landmark.
   "NEW CONSTRUCTION." The act of adding to an existing building or structure or constructing a new building or structure.
   "NEW WORK." Alteration, construction, demolition, or relocation of a historic property.
