(A) Effective July 1 annually, the compensation of elected officials shall be increased by the amount the Consumer Price Index increased during the previous calendar year as determined by the Governor’s Office for Local Development.
(B) Except as provided in (A) the council shall by ordinance fix the compensation of every elected city officer not later than the first Monday in May in the year in which the officer is elected. An elected officer’s compensation shall not be changed after his or her election or during his or her term of office.
(C) The compensation for members of City Council is hereby fixed at $300 per month for an annual compensation of $3,600.
