(A) There are hereby established the following non-elected offices of the city:
(1) City Clerk;
(2) City Treasurer;
(3) City Attorney;
(4) City Engineer;
(5) Chief of Police; and
(6) Chief of the Fire Department.
(B) Pursuant to KRS 83A.080, all nonelected city officers shall be appointed by the executive authority with the approval of the legislative authority. The appointment of all other city employees shall be at the discretion of the Mayor subject to the city's Personnel Policies and Procedures.
(C) Any official appointed pursuant to this section shall be appointed by the Mayor at the first regular meeting after the new members of the City Council take office, for a term of two years and until his or her successor is appointed.
