There is hereby established the Lawrenceburg Historic District Commission. The Commission shall consist of five (5) or more members appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council. The members shall have demonstrated interest in and knowledge of historic preservation. In making appointments, the Mayor shall seek to include at least two (2) members who own property within the city and, upon creation of historic districts, shall seek to include at least one (1) member who owns property or resides within each district. Members of the Commission shall serve without compensation, but they shall be entitled to reimbursement for expenses incurred in the performance of their duties in accordance with rules adopted by the Commission.
