(A) Any city officer who is willfully or corruptly guilty of oppression, malconduct or misfeasance in the discharge of the duties of his or her office shall be prosecuted, removed from office, and punished by any court of competent jurisdiction in the manner provided by law.
(B) The Mayor may, as permitted by law, remove from office any person appointed by him or her or any of his or her predecessors by notifying him or her to that effect and sending a message to the Common Council stating in writing his or her reasons for such removal.
