§ 31.005 VACANCY IN OFFICE FOR FAILURE TO FILE OATH AND/OR BOND.
   Except as otherwise provided by state law, any person who is required by this code to file an oath and/or bond of office who fails to do so within ten days after the beginning of the term of office for which he or she was elected or appointed shall be deemed to have refused to serve, and the city office shall be deemed to be vacant.
