Except as otherwise provided by state law, every officer of the city, except the Mayor and members of the Common Council, shall execute a bond, to the approval of the Mayor, payable to the city in such sum as the Council may require by ordinance, conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties of his or her office and for the payment to the proper person of moneys received by him or her as such officer. The bond shall be filed with the Clerk-Treasurer.
