§ 5-3-3-1. PLACEMENT AND USE OF MONITORING WELLS FOR FACILITIES WHICH COULD CONTAMINATE SUBSURFACE LAND AND WATER.
   Any new land use or establishment that has the potential, through the conduct and operation of the business or activity, to contaminate the soil subsurface or groundwater shall provide a monitoring well to enable testing in the relevant area to determine possible contamination and ensure the safety of the city, its citizens and our city’s raw water supply. Such land uses and establishments shall include, but not be limited to, waste transfer stations, automobile service or repair facilities and dry cleaning establishments. Such monitoring wells shall be so designed and located as to most certainly and effectively determine the existence of pollutants on or leeching within and from the subject property.
