§ 3-2-8-2. PAYMENT THROUGH COURT CLERK; COMPROMISES.
   (A)   It shall be the duty of any person who receives notice of a City of Lawrence code violation to appear at the Marion County Circuit Court Clerk’s office or other location as specified by the presiding judge of the Marion County Circuit Court to plead and pay the prescribed penalty if he or she desires to admit or compromise the ordinance violation.
   (B)   Any person receiving notice of an ordinance violation may appear before the Clerk of the Court and, upon signing an appearance, plea of guilty and waiver of trial, pay the fine established for the offense charged and the associated court costs as prescribed by law; or he or she may sign a plea of guilty and waiver of trial and deliver or mail the amount of the fine and costs indicated on the ticket for the offense to the Court Clerk within the time limit specified on the citation.
   (C)   The admission or compromise is allowable, provided that prior to making the plea of guilty, waiver and payment to the Court Clerk the alleged violator shall be informed that he or she has a right to stand trial, that his or her signature to a plea of guilty will have the same force and effect as a judgment of the court, and that the record of the conviction, if required by applicable law, will be sent to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles of the State of Indiana or to appropriate officers of the state by which his or her license to drive was issued. The information shall be printed on the citation form provided to the violator.
