(A) Any run requiring any type of basic or advanced life support procedures shall be considered an emergency run.
(B) A fee shall apply whenever any individual is treated and/or transported by any ambulance or other emergency medical service vehicle and personnel of the City of Lawrence Fire Department.
(C) The following response and use charges shall apply:

(D) The City of Lawrence Fire Department also shall charge a mileage fee of $36.91 per mile, for patients transported within any ambulance or other emergency medical services vehicle of the City of Lawrence Fire Department.
(E) The Chief of the City of Lawrence Fire Department may waive the above ambulance fee in the event the assessment of the ambulance fee would result in undue financial hardship to the transported person. The City of Lawrence Fire Department shall establish written guidelines to be used to determine when it is appropriate to waive the ambulance fee.
(F) In any instance when the ambulance fee would be paid by the City of Lawrence group health and hospitalization insurance, the ambulance fee shall be waived.
