(A) Officers and other employees of the Fire Department shall be paid members, as shall be authorized from time to time by the Board of Public Works and Safety, subject to relevant ordinances adopted by the Common Council, including the establishment of a merit system for the full-time, paid members of the Department.
(B) Full-time civilian employees of the Fire Department shall participate in the Public Employees’ Retirement Fund, as prescribed in § 1-2-5-13.
