(A) Every officer and every deputy of the City shall, before entering on his or her official duties, take an oath to support the Constitution of the United States and of this state and that he or she will faithfully discharge the duties of the office.
(B) A certified copy of the oath shall be delivered to the person taking the oath, which certified copy shall then be deposited by the person with the City Clerk for permanent maintenance in the records of the City Clerk’s office, provided that this paragraph(B) does not apply to members or employees of the Police and Fire Departments.
