(A) The Common Council may employ or contract, pursuant to I.C. 36-4-6-24, with one or more attorneys or law firms and legal research assistants on terms the Common Council deems appropriate in order to provide legal research, information, drafting and review services and such other assistance and services as may be desired to assist, support, accomplish, facilitate and achieve the work of the Common Council.
(B) The President of the Common Council may hire or contract with one or more attorneys or law firms and legal research assistants as mentioned above only after the Common Council has adopted a resolution authorizing such a contract.
