ORDINANCE NO. 1, 2020

   AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING AND ENACTING AN THIRTEENTH SUPPLEMENT TO THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, INDIANA

   WHEREAS, a thirteenth supplement to the Code of Ordinances of the City of Lawrence, Indiana as adopted on December 1, 2008, has been completed, which supplement contains all ordinances of a general and permanent nature enacted since the adoption of the tenth supplement to the Code of Ordinances through Ordinance No. 1, 2019; and

   WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Lawrence intends to accept this thirteenth supplement and the updated sections included therein; and

   WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide for the usual daily operation of the City of Lawrence and for the preservation of the public health, safety and general welfare of the City of Lawrence that this ordinance be adopted and take effect.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE as follows:

Section 1. The 2019 S-13 Supplement to the Code of Ordinances of the City of Lawrence, Indiana, as prepared by American Legal Publishing Corporation of Cincinnati, Ohio, and as attached hereto as Exhibit A, is hereby adopted by reference as if set out in its entirety as the Thirteenth Supplement to be incorporated into and made part of the existing Code of Ordinances of the City of Lawrence, Indiana.

Section 2. Such supplement shall be deemed published as of the date of its adoption by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor, and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to insert such supplement into the copy of the Code of Ordinances kept on file in the Office of the Clerk and provide in all respects for its inclusion in book form and electronically as deemed appropriate and according to law.

Section 3. Such supplement and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect as provided herein and shall be effective on and following the date of passage upon this ordinance being adopted, signed and approved as provided by law.
