Vacancies of appointed members occurring otherwise than through the expiration of their terms shall be filled for the remainder of the unexpired term by appointment of the mayor with the advice and consent of city council. Upon the recommendation of the chairperson of the water board, the mayor, with the advice and consent of the city council, shall have the right to remove any member for nonperformance of duty. Nonperformance of duty shall include a repeated failure to attend water board meetings. (Ord. 2004-01, 1-21-2004)
