As used in this chapter, the following words and terms shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section:
ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER: The animal control officer or supervisors hired by the city of LaVerkin.
AT LARGE: Off the premises of the owner and not under the control of the owner or a member of his immediate family either by leash, cord, chain or otherwise.
IMPOUND: The picking up or the taking into the control or the possession of any animal by the animal control officer.
OWNER: When applied to the proprietorship of a dog, shall mean any person or persons, firm, association or corporation owning, keeping or harboring a dog.
UNLICENSED DOG: A dog for which the license for the current year has not been paid, or to which the tag provided for in this chapter is not attached. (Ord. 99-09, 9-1-1999)
