The office of chief of the fire department or any vacancy therein shall be filled by appointment of the mayor, with the advice and consent of the city council. The chief of the fire department shall act under the direction, supervision and control of the mayor. The chief of the fire department shall serve at the pleasure of and may be removed by the mayor and city council. (Ord. 2003-11, 9-17-2003)
