Whenever any person is halted by a police officer and cited for a misdemeanor as designated in this chapter or the Idaho Code, the officer may require the person to post bond in accordance with a bonding schedule maintained by the city clerk-treasurer when the person does not furnish satisfactory evidence of identity or when the officer has reasonable and probable grounds to believe the person will disregard his promise to appear in court.
