6-4-4: PARKING OF CERTAIN VEHICLES IN RESIDENTIAL ZONES PROHIBITED:
Because of limited on-street parking within the residential neighborhoods of the City, parking on a City street within any residential zone designated as such in the Lava Hot Springs Zoning Ordinance is limited to cars, pickups and passenger vans designed to carry ten (10) or fewer persons. It shall be a violation of this Parking Code for any person operating or in control of semi-tractors, or heavy duty trucks, or moving vans, or buses, or motorhomes, or box trailers, or flatbed trailers, or semi-trailers, or RV trailers, or horse trailers, or similar vehicles or towable trailers to park, or the owners of such vehicles or trailers to allow the same to be parked, on the City streets or alleys in any residential zone within the City except for the sole and exclusive purpose of temporarily loading or unloading, provided that the loading and unloading is performed in a reasonably expeditious fashion and does not obstruct the natural flow of traffic. Such vehicles or trailers parked on a City street or alley within a residential zone of the City for the purposes of loading or unloading must be attended at all times and immediately moved upon request to allow operation of emergency vehicles, or authorized city vehicles, or to eliminate traffic congestion, or to allow parking by residents who own or lease a residence in the neighborhood.
