The following words and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have, unless the context indicates otherwise, the following meanings:
CITY: The city of Lava Hot Springs.
COMMISSION: The historic preservation commission of the city of Lava Hot Springs.
HISTORIC PRESERVATION: The research, documentation, protection, restoration and rehabilitation of buildings, structures, objects, areas or sites significant in the history, architecture, archaeology or culture of the city, state or nation.
HISTORIC PROPERTY: Any building, structure, area or site that is significant in the history, architecture, archaeology or culture of the city, state or nation. (Ord. 1987-2, 3-11-1987)
