7-3-2: DEFINITIONS:
These definitions shall apply to this chapter.
BONFIRE: Means the open burning of cut trees, vegetation, leaves or lumber for ceremonial, celebratory or other purposes, and wherein the fire occupies an area greater than three feet (3') in diameter and two feet (2') in height.
BURN: Means all outdoor burning except a recreational fire or burning contained in an incinerator burn barrel.
HAZARDOUS MATERIALS: Means those chemicals or substances whether the materials are in usable or waste condition which are physical hazards or health hazards as defined and classified in part V of the 2012 edition of the International Fire Code or the part defining "hazardous materials" of the effective version of such code as is adopted or approved by the Idaho Building Code Board or Idaho Department of Insurance/State Fire Marshal, effective on January 1 of the year following adoption by the Idaho Building Code Board or Idaho Department of Insurance/State Fire Marshal.
OPEN BURNING: Means the burning of a bonfire, household garbage or rubbish fire or other fire in an outdoor location where the fuel being burned is not contained in an incinerator, burn barrel, outdoor fireplace or barbeque pit.
RECREATIONAL FIRE: Means the burning of materials other than household garbage or rubbish where fuel being burned is not contained in a burn barrel, incinerator, outdoor fireplace, fire ring, or pit and with a total fuel area of three feet (3') or less in diameter and two feet (2') or less in height for pleasure, religious, ceremonial, cooking or similar purposes.
