(A) G.S. § 160A-312 grants municipalities the power to regulate certain utilities. The Town of Laurel Park maintains and operates a water distribution system, and bills for sewer service in certain areas of town. The town purchases water from the City of Hendersonville which draws and treats water from the Mills River watershed.
(B) The service charges for water and sewer service shall be established each year as a part of the fee schedule adopted annually by the Town Council. Laurel Park residents who receive water/sewer service directly from the City of Hendersonville follow Hendersonville policies and procedures for utility service.
