(A) If other payment methods are not available, expenditures of $100 or less, including sales tax, can be made through the use of petty cash. Petty cash must only be used when the expenditure is for a public purchase and the purchaser initiating its use is certain the funds have been appropriated. Documentation shall be provided for all petty cash expenditures.
(B) The Petty Cash Fund may also be used to provide customer change for cash payments. The Administration Department shall maintain the Petty Cash Fund for the town.
