§ 151.37 ACCEPTANCE OF ROAD RIGHTS-OF-WAY.
Road rights-of-way that have been offered for dedication and recorded may be officially accepted by the town either by maintenance or by formal acceptance of that right-of-way by the Town Council. All rights-of-way currently maintained by the town are considered offered for dedication and accepted. Road rights-of-way that have been offered for dedication, but not accepted by the town, remain private. Pursuant to G.S. § 160A-374, the approval of a plat does not constitute or effect the acceptance by the town or the public of the offering for dedication of any street or other ground, easement, right-of-way, public utility line or other public facility shown on the plat and shall not be construed to do so.
